STRONGER TOGETHER

ARTWORK: Jimmy Baptiste - MEDIUM: Latex Paint - DIMENSION: 78’ X 8’ - LOCATION: Ottawa, Canada - YEAR: 2026

In The Summer of 2026, I was honored to collaborate to The O, a large-scale public installation marking Ottawa’s 200th anniversary. This was a wonderful opportunity to contribute my talent to this beautiful city’s story.

Launching on Canada Day, at he corner of George and York Street, at the Market Plaza in the ByWard Market, one of Ottawa’s busiest public spaces. I aimed to create something that draws people in, invites interaction, and honors the imagery of the city.

The O is the result of a meaningful collaboration between Immersive International, the Ottawa Art Gallery and the ByWard Market District Authority. When guided by a shared vision, collaboration can achieve far more than any one group alone.

The installation also connects to the Ottawa Art Gallery’s growing Arts Corridor, linking key cultural landmarks across downtown, from the ByWard Market to the National Gallery of Canada, the National Arts Centre, and the OAG. It encourages people to explore the city on foot and experience it through creativity

This moment is especially meaningful to me. I began in graffiti, learning to tell stories in unexpected places. That path has taken me across Canada and the Caribbean, through murals, installations, and public commissions. Each project has reinforced the same belief: public art builds pride, sparks dialogue, and creates belonging.

The O reflects that journey while celebrating the people who shape Ottawa every day. I hope it offers residents a sense of recognition and gives visitors a powerful first impression of the city’s creative spirit.
